Samsung has released a large variety MP3 players in the past few years and today we take at their latest creation the YP-T9.
With the YP-T9, Samsung has steered away from just a basic MP3 player to more of a multimedia player. Capable of playing music, video, pictures, text, flash games and a full integrated FM radio, this player is fully loaded with features.
Included with the YP-T9 is a set earbuds, driver/application CD, manual and a USB cord. The unit is a sleek looking device with nicely curved edges, an ergonomic five-way control pad, and a large 1.8" color screen with a resolution of 220 x 176 and a Frame Rate: 15fps. Battery life is an astonishing 30 hours for audio and 6 for video.
As for storage capacity, the player is available in two and four gigabyte capacities.
The unit is capable of playing MP3, WMA, and those with DRM as well. The YP-T9 also has a variety of sound enhancing features such as DNSe which provides a 9-band customizable EQ and 11 preset modes for all types of musical preferences. Playlists are supported as well as an internal "Favorites" list, a sort of on-the-go playlist with multiple Playback Modes- Normal, Repeat, Repeat One and Shuffle.
You can even playback audio at Speeds of -3x(slow) and 3x(fast).
A customizable skip interval lets you set the Fast Forward and Rewind button to move to the next song or between 3, 5, 7, 10, 30, and 60 seconds in file.
The YP-T9 also has an option to limit the unit's output volume to protect your ears (toggle either on/off).
MPEG4 video files are the format of choice for the YP-T9 and the unit ships with Samsung's Multimedia Software
that transcodes the video on the computer before transferring to the T9 so files on the YP-T9 play at the optimal frame size/rate with minimal effort from the user.
