Today we take a look at the new Samsung Syncmaster 940BW 19" wide screen monitor. This monitor with it's wider than standard screen, not only can achieve a maximum native resolution of 1440 x 900 but it's a performer too. Boasting a 4 ms response time should make this screen a good bet for pc gamers.

Included with the 940BW is the power adapter and cord, analog signal cable, digital signal cable, install CD and manual. The monitor is available in two colors; black and silver.

The 940BW monitor has a scanning frequency of 56-75 Hz, and is capable of delivering a 500:1 contrast ratio. To achieve the 1440 x 900 resolution, a driver needs to be installed which is included on the install CD. It is also HDTV Ready with DVI input with HDCP support.

The 940BW has a fairly narrow side profile and won't take up much desk top real estate, despite its wide screen.
