Above we have a shot of the unique external camera lens. This secondary cam lens is equipped with a 1/4" 320K gross pixel CMOS sensor. Using this external cam lens with the included head band allows the user to get first person perspective video.
This particular feature would greatly benefit to any user who would like to capture sports style action shots, or simply a hands free method of use.

Video:
For the size of the camcorder we were quite surprised on the quality of the video. The quality produced would be perfectly suited to be used with websites and computer play back. The unit does present some pixelization and dark shadowiness occasionally though. Users who are looking for a high quality picture might want to check out a Mini-DV instead.
MP3 Player:
The Mp3 play back of the unit sounds quite good. The included earbuds do an okay job, but a better pair of earbuds would definitely help. As for tweaking the audio sound, the unit has a limited EQ system with three settings: Pop, Classical, and Jazz. Other features included a repeat function that can repeat a song or a song folder.
Webcam:
The SC-X300L works perfectly as a webcam and performs quite well.
Voice recorder:
Voice recording is encoded to wav files, and would be ideal for short voice memos.
Storage device:
As with most MP3/portable media devices, they can be used as a portable storage device and the SC-X300L is no exception. Simple drop your files from windows explorer to the camcorders folder.
The Samsung SC-X300L is a fun multi use device aimed straight at the sports enthusiest. Although the unit doesn't produce super high quality videos, the unit is perfectly suited to share video with friends, and on the web. Considering the other features the unit has, makes this a pretty attractive little camcorder.
