According to Samsung the 2.7 inch LCD screen is supposed to be clearly visible in direct sunlight. We tested this, and it seems to be a reasonably accurate statement. In extreme direct sunlight, the screen is visible but very dark.
All controls and buttons are easily accessible, and the menu system is intuitive and easy to navigate. The main controls such as record, zoom, photo, player, camera and menu are all within reach of a thumb or finger making for easy control and manipulation with one hand.
For a camcorder reportedly priced at 280$ US, we were quite pleased with the quality of the video it produced. The quality is more than adequate for capturing home movies, and the still photos it can produce are good as well.
The Samsung SC-D372 Mini DV Camcorder is a fun and easy to use camcorder for the consumer on a budget. Novices will like the fact that they can create good quality video and stills with little or no fuss, just point and shoot.
