Let's face it. There's a limited amount of slots and space in a computer case. Most computer users wouldn't even give this a second thought, but among overclockers and case modders it something to consider. Well today we take a look at Sunbeamtech's Wherever PCI Rack that allows you to install more components to your computer case. Maybe you want to mount a fan just above the videocard for added cooling, or maybe you just want to mount a third hard drive. With the Wherever PCI Rack you can do that and more.
The Wherever PCI Rack is made of 1.5mm thick chromed steel and contains one base rack and two extension racks. Screws and washers are also supplied with the rack.
Installation of the rack is accomplished by placing the base rack on the back of your case right on top of where you would fasten your PCI cards. The base rack only requires four screws to secure itself to the case. Once secured the base rack is quite sturdy and should be strong enough to hold even a hard drive.
The next part of the installation depends on what you plan to install. In the above picture one of the extension racks is used to position a fan just in front of the videocard. The fan is screwed to the extension rack, and then thanks to the track on the base rack it can be slid into position at what ever distance to the videocard you desire.
