It seems now days that the need for more hard drive space is in higher demand. Today we take a look at what Samsung has to offer with there Spinpoint 250GB PATA (SP2514N) Hard drive.
The Spinpoint 250GB PATA (SP2514N) hard drive comes with a rotation speed rate of 7200 RPM and has an 8mb buffer.
The buffer to host is 133Mbytes/s with an average latency of 4.17 ms.
The drive also uses the new Fluid dynamic bearings (FDB) which are a substitute for the traditional ball
bearing motors used in previous generation drives. This new bearing technology
enables high spindle speeds, low acoustic noise emission, and improved
shock performance, while ensuring higher reliability at increased track densities.
This is achieved by eliminating the metal-to-metal contact found in ball
bearings.
The Spinpoint hard drive also features Samsung's NoiseGuardTM technology which helps the drive to operate quietly.
