Above is a picture of the crossflow fan mounted to the pci mounting bracket. Access to the fan speed controller is on the outer face of the pci clip.
Here we have the unit installed on the card and back into the computer. There was some concern that the side panel would not fit with the cross flow fan sticking out like that, but everything fit fine with plenty of room.
Test System:
AMD XP 2600+ 333 MHz (AIUHB)
Asus A7N8X Deluxe rev 2.0
Corsair PC3200 XMS 1024 MEGS
Thermaltake Damier 5000A Case
Western Digital 200 GB 8 meg cache harddrive.
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 meg.
We will be testing the unit against the stock heatsink and fan. Idle speeds were allowed to sit doing nothing for 30 minutes before marking down the results. For stress testing each setting and the stock heatsink was put through Aqua Mark's benchmark testing software.
As seen from the results, the Kuformula VF1 Plus was capable of achieve approximately a 10 to 12 degree difference depending of the fan speed. Enthusiasts who overclock their videocards, could possibly achieve higher overclocks with this cooler.
All in all the Kuformula VF1 Plus series is a great aftermarket GPU cooler. With it's ease of installation, video card compatibility, and great cooling its hard to beat.
Pros:
-Easy install
-Fan speed controller
-Good Cooling
-Fits almost every video card on the market
-RAM sinks
