The Icemat 2nd Edition differs from an ordinary mousepad in the fact that the Icemat is made from glass. A specially developed treatment to the glass gives the icemat a smooth slick surface and makes it difficult to break.
The Icemat 2nd Edition is very similar to its predecessor with a few improvements and esthetic enhancements. The Icemat 2nd Edition is now 250 x 300 mm or 10 x 12 inches. This is larger than the previous version's dimensions of 210 x 250 x 6.2 mm or 8 x 10 inches. Another improvement to the pad is it now has six rubber feet which ensures solid and steady use.
The Icemat 2nd Edition is also available in a wide variety of colours including black, blue, purple, green, red, silver, grey, yellow and white.
TESTING
To put the pad through its paces we spent a total of around 10-15 hours playing various first person shooter games such as Fear, Quake 4, and Far Cry.
The pad has a nice smooth and slick feel to it compared to a regular mouse pad and it made gaming all that much more pleasant. The Icemat 2nd Edition allows you to make quick precise movements that really help out during game play.
