Today we take a look at a new product from Samsung, their HD 850 DVD Player. The HD 850 features HD Up-conversion which is an all-digital process that takes a DVD signal and converts it to match your HDTV's native resolution. This conversion eliminates video distortion and provides a great picture.
The HD 850 comes with user's manual, remote control, batteries for said remote, a set of Composite cables, and a HDMI cable.
HDMI consists of a single cable that can transfer uncompressed HD video and audio to your TV. This connection provides better results than component video, and provides the best choice for picture quality and colour accuracy.
The DVD player is capable of playing your standard DVDs, VCDs, Audio cds, and cds burnt with MP3 and WMA files on it. The unit is also cable of viewing JPGs, allowing the unit to be used as a digital photo viewer.
One especially nice feature of the HD-850 is the EZ View Letter Box Eliminator. As the name hints at it's purpose, this feature gets rid of all the black on the bottom and top a movie and fills your entire screen with the picture.
