Moving on to the bottom of the Diamondcool II, we get a better look at the all copper bottom.
The copper base is a nice thick slab that's polished and is relatively smooth with almost no discernable marks.
The Diamondcool II uses screws to fasten the unit to the motherboard's back plate.
Depending on your motherboard model, some users may need to remove the motherboard back plate and install the one included with the Diamoncool II.
To calculate the idle temperatures, The computer was run for 10 minutes on its own before writing the temperature down.
Next, using Sandra burn in wizard the computer was allowed to run 30 minutes and the results were recorded.
We will be comparing the Diamondcool II to a stock heatsink.
From the results we see the Diamondcool II performed better than the stock one and much quieter too i might add. Fan noise was barely audible. The temperatures are a little high if you're an overclocker, but that's not what this Heatsink/fan combo was designed for.
All in all the Diamondcool II is a well rounded package for the consumer who's looking for good cooling, CPU compatibility, and very low noise operation.
