Steelpad QCK + MousePad

Company: Steelpad
Product: Mouse pad

I'd like to thank Danny of softtrading.info for providing us with the Steelpad QCK+ for review.

Just when we thought we had seen the biggest mouse pad, Steelpad sent us their QCK + Mouse Pad. This giant mouse surface measures an incredible 17,7in x 15,7in!

The SteelPad QCK+ has a cloth surface and on the back of the pad is a rubber backing that provides a good grip to the desktop. The Pad came to us rolled up in a box but did not conform to this shape and when it was rolled out, it laid out perfectly flat. The fact that this mouse pad can be rolled up makes it ideal to take to LAN parties.

Some of the mousepads we've seen had some trouble with some types of optical mice, but the QCK+ will work with any optical mouse.

Testing:

To put the pad through its paces i played various first person shooters such as Far Cry, Unreal Tournament 2004, etc over a period of a few days.

The QCK+ has a nice smooth and slick feel to it compared to a regular mouse pad and it made gaming all that much more pleasant. One thing about this pad is it's size makes it a double edged sword. The fact that it is so huge makes it a plus and a liability. For instance the huge surface takes away all possibility of a chance of pushing the mouse off of the pad like other regular sized pads. On the other hand you're going to need a huge table top to even use the QCK+.

The QCK+ is a great choice for the avid gamer who's looking for the largest mouse surface available with great mousing surface performance.

On another note if the QCK+ is too big for you, Steelpad has a smaller version of the QCK+ called the Steelpad QCK that measures 12,6in x 11,2in.

Pros:
-Non-slip rubber base
-Performs well
-Affordable
-Compatible with all mice

Cons:
-Requires a large desktop surface to use.
