Setting up the mouse is very straight forward. Simply plug the mousepad's USB cable into the computer. Make sure the red power on button is illuminated. Then make sure the mouse is on the pad and press the "Tune" button so the mouse can obtain the frequency for the best performance. That's it! You're ready to go.
There are some precautions you must take with this mouse according to the instruction booklet though. The first is to not use it on a metal table or surface because it could interface with the cross induction frequency and have adverse effects. On a lighter note A4Tech says the situation can be resolved by placing a book or similar under the mousepad.
The second precaution is to keep the mousepad at least 20cm away from a CRT monitor.
TESTING:
First off let's start off with the fact that the mousepad and the mouse look great. Design wise the product is a real winner. The mouse has a little extra sparkle when it's in use and glows a bright red. As for using the product, the mouse and the pad perform nicely. The movement feels like the mouse is gliding over a slippery surface.
A couple of minor points about the product we had some problems with was the mouse wheel feels like its too far back. The wheel is located about in the middle of your finger instead of near your finger tip. The other was we would of liked to have a bit more space on the mousepad horizontally. An extra two inches would do the trick.
All in all A4Tech has done a great job on the NB-30 Wireless optical mouse.
Pros:
- Smooth action and performance
- No mouse cord to tangle up
-Resonably priced (35$ US)
-Well designed and attractive
Cons:
-Mouse wheel is a little too far back
-Mousepad could be a bit wider
