The driver CD only works with Windows based operating systems, so Mac people are out of luck. Once the installation of the drivers is done, connecting to a device is achieved by clicking on your new desktop icon labeled "my bluetooth places".
Simply do a search for "new bluetooth devices" and wait for the adapter to recognize your device. Then select the device and right click on it, and proceed to click on "connect device" and you should be done.
Another way to connect to devices and to get access to other bluetooth options is to click on the Bluetooth symbol in your task tray.
We tested the adapter with a few bluetooth enabled devices including a mouse, pda and cellphone. We were able to easily connect each device to the computer with the USB adapter.
The typical file transfer speed averaged a little under 1Mbps and is kinda slow if you're going to transfer large files back and forth. For larger files i'd suggest going with an 802.11b or g network adapter instead.
As for range we weren't able to test at the max range of 100 Meters (328 feet) at this time, but we were able to establish a link at around 85 feet with a PDA and i believe it's could probably do even more.
