With Bluetooth slowly gaining popularity, more and more electronic devices are incorporating the standard. One problem with bluetooth devices is the range. Typical Bluetooth devices can link up together between 10-30 meters depending on conditions.
Today we take a look at Zonet's ZUB6100 Bluetooth USB Adapter that has Class 1 RF Output Power, capable of a range of 100 Meters.
For those of you who don't know what Bluetooth is here's a quote from the Manual:
"Bluetooth Technology eliminates proprietary cables, allowing mobile users to connect to mobile computing devices effortlessly and without wires. It is intended to be used for both voice and data communications in local area within a range of 10 to 100 meters.
Bluetooth operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM (Industrial Scientific Medical) frequency band, which is reserved for license-free operation in most countries. Its key features are robustness, low complexity, low power and low cost. The technology also offers wireless access to LANs, PSTN, the mobile phone network and the Internet for a host of home appliances and portable handheld interfaces."
The ZUB6100 comes with Driver CD and a short one page instruction sheet.
The instructions are very brief and not 'new user' friendly but a complete user manual is included on the driver CD for more in depth instructions, and has a trouble shooting section.
The adapter looks like your typical flash drive with a Blue LED on the side of it, but it can connect your computer to other computers, PDAs, cell phones, mice, etc. The adapter makes it easy to connect to the internet, transfer files and information between devices.
