With the amount of computer virus's, trojans, and spyware around now a days, it becomes even more important to backup your data.
There are many software solutions to back up data available and now even hardware solutions. One of these hardware solutions is from Coolmax with their Xtreme Files F1-B. This external hard drive is capable of backing up files or your entire Operating System with a push of a button.
The Xtreme Files F1-B comes fully equipped with power adapter, instruction manual, Software CD, USB cable and the unit itself. The Xtreme File F1-B is available in sizes of 80GB, 160GB and 250GB with 7,200rpm /8MB cache hard drive.
Data transfer rates are USB 2.0 compliant giving speeds of 480 Mbps between the Xtreme Files and a computer over USB.
The Xtreme Files F1's enclosure is one of the most unique looking enclosures we've seen. Constructed of silver plastic and X shaped, the unit also has green LED's that circle around in center when the unit is on, and change to red LEDs that rotate around when the unit is transfer files.
Moving to the back of the unit we find two plugins and a switch. From left to right we have the power adapter jack, the on/off switch, and the USB port. The two covered up plugins look like firewire ports which possibly Coolmax plans on having a firewire version available.
