To truly appreciate how massive this fan is, we took a picture of the old Taurus Silent switching Power Supply next to the new 140mm version. The 140mm fan almost completely covers the top of power supply housing, and should be able to cool all the inside components fairly evenly.
Above we yet another comparison between the old and the new. The back of the new power supply has a finer mesh grill then the old one. This should give some increase in air circulation compared to the other older version.
As you can see from the above photo the main power connector to the motherboard is kept tidy with some black sleeving.
I was hoping though that Coolmax would with this newer power supply start sleeving all the cables.
Testing:
Over a period of a week i jotted down the voltage readings several times a day and averaged out the results.
+12 volts averaged 12.267, +5 volts, came to 5.11, and the +3.3 volts came to 3.32. Nothing to be concerned about and right around the specifications.
The Taurus 140mm Silent Switching PSU offers plenty of power and control over fan noise with its many speed settings. With the large variety of wattages available, you should be able to find one that suits your needs.
Pros:
-Fan Speed controller
-Quiet
-Huge 140mm fan
-Over voltage protection
