I'd like to thank Eileen of Samsung Canada for providing us with the SyncMaster 710N LCD Monitor for review.
It seems lately that LCD Monitors are becoming more and more popular. Thanks to lower prices the average consumer can pick one up for around 300$ and up. With lower prices one would assume that the quality and performance on these lower priced LCD Monitors would be quite lacking and in most cases this is true. Today we take a look at a reasonably priced LCD Monitor from Samsung their SyncMaster 710N which combines both affordable price and good performance.
The SyncMaster 710N is a 17" analog LCD Monitor available in Black or Ivory. The 710N is capable of a maximum resolution of 1280 X 1024 and has a fast response time of 12 ms. With LCD monitors the lower a response time the better.
The monitor is also Mac and PC compatible.
The base of the 710N is solidly built and has only one pivot point which allows you to only tilt the screen forward or back. The base lacks any sort of swivel base or ability to move the screen up or down. This was probably done to keep costs low.
