I'm sure many of you have considered upgrading your old CRT monitor to a new LCD Monitor. Not only do they offer more useable desk space, but they look damn cool! Today we take a look at new LCD monitor from Samsung, their SyncMaster 173P.
The SyncMaster 173P is got to be one of the thinnest LCD monitor we've seen to date, plus the screen can be rotated 178' degrees.
The 173P is a 17" monitor that comes in a cool silver finish. There aren't any display buttons on the monitor instead all the settings are controlled by a piece of software called "Magic Tune" thats very easy to use and setup.
The unit can be used with an analog or digital connection. It's capable of a max resolution of 1280 x 1024 and a scanning frequency of 30-81 kHz horizontal for analog and 56-75 Hz for digital. It features a narrow bezel and slim design with pivot technology.
Included with the 173P is the Power adapter and cord, Analog signal cable, Digital signal cable, Optional Wall mounting bracket, Install CD and Manual.
As stated before the 173P screen can be rotated 178' degrees, but most users will find the 90' degree portrait mode the most useful. Included with the monitor is the software program called "Pivot Pro" that controls the viewing of the monitor in different degrees of rotation. The software allows you to use short cuts to rotate the display (not the physical screen, you'll have to do that yourself.) 90, 180, and 270 degrees as well as returning it back to regular viewing mode.
