On the bottom of the unit we have the tape eject button. Here you can remove or place a Mini DV tape into the unit.
Below the tape is the Memory card slot which is compatible with Sony memory stick, Sony memory Pro stick, MMC, and SD cards.
When using the camcorder as a digital camera, photos are stored to the memory card. It's also possible to record a short mpeg 4 movie clip to the card. The clip has a maximum length of 30 seconds.
Included with the SCD- 105 is the handy remote control. With the remote you have access to most of the main operating features. Setup the camcorder on a tripod and control it remotely to record yourself with out get up to turn the record on.
To top off the package Samsung has included a very nice camcorder bag. The bag fits the camera snugly and has a small pouch in side.
Testing:
The SCD-105 Camcorder is fairly easy to use thanks to the Easy Q feature. Most of the buttons are clearly labeled and intuitive. Picture quality is good and the Nite Pix feature really helps in near dark filming. The Digital image stabilizer feature works great to eliminate hand shake while filming and the built in microphone records fairly well.
One thing we didn't particularly like was the on/off/record button which was positioned conveniently but was awkward to use.
All in all the SCD-105 Digital Camcorder is a nice feature rich camcorder and reasonably priced.
Pros:
- Digital image stabilizer
- Mpeg 4 Movie Clip
-18 X optical/Digital 900 X zoom lens.
-4 in 1 Memory card slot (MS/MS Pro/SD/MMC)
-Nite Pix (night vision)
