Moving to the back of the unit we have the plug-in jack, on/off switch, and voltage selector switch.
The unit has over voltage protection that provides short circuit protection on all output levels. To power all your peripherals the unit has 6 molex connectors and is serial ATA ready.
Coolmax has continued with sleeving the main power cable like it has with its Taurus models. This is a nice attempt to clean up the messy wires but i wonder why they didn't do them all?
Over a period of a few days i jotted down the voltage readings several times a day and averaged out the results.
+12 volts averaged 12.05
+5 volts came to 5.05
+3.3 volts came to 3.15
As you can see all the numbers are right around the specs. We did notice our internal case temperature was a couple of degrees higher than normal, but that was expected since the unit has no fans.
The Coolmax Fanless Switching Power Supply is well constructed and performs quite well. This is the power supply to get for anyone who's looking into building a silent computer.
Pros:
-Fanless
-Completely Quiet
-Over voltage protection
