Above we have a shot of one of the unit's sides. From right to left we have the volume, the hold button (so you won't accidently turn the unit on or off), and the headphone jack.
On the other side of the unit we have the song selection/mode button. To move to the next song you push the button right, to go back you'd push it left.
To use the button as the mode, the button is pressed straight down. When selecting the modes you can select a variety of options including using the unit as a voice recorder, enable the pre-defined equalizer, LCD contrast level, deleting files, and setting the auto off.
The mode button on the unit was very sensitive and proved frustrating at times. What i mean by this for example, is to select the EQ you'd have to push the mode button down three times to navigate to the EQ selection. If you accidentally pushed the button a little left or a little right you'd have to repeat the procedure all over again.
X Micro added a nice extra that not all companies would add to an MP3 package, by way of a USB extension cord. This is handy if your USB ports are on the back of your computer.
