Xtrac Ripper

Company: Xtrac

Product: Mousing surface

I'd like to thank Christopher from Xtrac for providing us with the Xtrac Ripper for review.

Today we take a look at one of the biggest mouse pads that we've come across the Xtrac Ripper.

The Xtrac Ripper has a cloth surface and will work with an optical mouse. What makes this mouse pad stand out is its huge size. The pad is about the size of a placemat! Actual dimensions are 11"x17".

The picture above shows the difference in size between a standard mouse pad and the Ripper.

The Ripper has a rubber backing that keeps the pad from sliding around. There's no chance to get this pad to move while gaming!

Testing:

To put the pad through its paces i played various first person shooters such as Halo, Unreal Tournament 2003, etc over a period of a few days.

The Ripper has a nice 'gliding feel' to it. What i really liked about it was the size of the Ripper. Because of the huge surface there's little chance of pushing the mouse off of the pad like other regular sized pads.

I know in the past i've gotten fragged at a critical point in a game because the mouse slipped off the pad. And of course was quickly followed by a slew of curse words.

All in all the Ripper is great choice for the avid gamer.

If your in Canada you can pick up a Ripper here: adpmods.

Everywhere else try here: Xtrac.

Pros:
-Huge surface
-Rubberized backing
-Affordable

Cons:
