Today's victim for the VGA Cooler swap will be a Power Color 9600 pro Radeon 128meg. The video card already has a cooler made of aluminum, but copper is usually better.
I started by removing the stock cooler, and removing the left over thermal gunk. Once that was done i proceeded to add a thin coat of silver thermal paste to the GPU. And lastly i installed the new cooler on and snapped the push pins through the video cards attachment holes.
Above we have a shot of the leds when the card is all re-installed.
To test the Cooler we used Q3Bench mark in a continuous loop for 30 minutes and jotted down the results.
The Twinkling VGA Cooler produced some satisfying results. 4.5C cooler at load. I'm sure the silver thermal paste also had a hand in the results as well.
All in all the Twinkling VGA Cooler is a nice performer as well a nice bit of eye candy.
