Moving to the back of the unit we have the plug-in jack, on/off switch, and voltage selector switch. The back of the unit is peppered with air holes to let out the hot air.
I wonder if Coolmax should have at least put a small fan here to suck the hot air out. IT would seem to me this would give better air circulation out of the unit.
The little black switch on the back of the unit is a fan speed controller for the huge 120mm fan that's equipped on the unit.
You have three choices to choose from: low, high and auto. The auto mode lets the Taurus select which speed is appropriate depending on the temperature.
The Taurus has over voltage protection that provides short circuit protection on all output levels. To power all your peripherials the unit has 6 molex connectors and is serial ATA ready.
Over a period of a week i jotted down the voltage readings several times a day and averaged out the results.
+12 volts averaged 12.544, +5 volts, came to 4.95, and the +3.3 volts came to 3.36. All the numbers are right around the specs.
Because the universal connector fits most brands of motherboards and is fully Amd and Intel compatible, makes this power supply ideal for most users.
Users with lots fans and lighting might want to get the Taurus in a higher voltage like 400 Watts or more.
Pros:
-Fan Speed controller
-Quiet
-Huge 120mm fan
-Over voltage protection
