I'd like to thank Sharon of Evercool for providing us with the SCP-A Fan Speed Controller for review.
Are you looking for a way to tame all those noisy fans in your system? Well today we take a look at a Fan Controller from Evercool, the SCP-A Fan Speed Controller.
The SCP-A Fan Controller housing is constructed of plastic and is colored blue. An odd color choice in my opinion considering a color like silver would look better on a majority of different colored computer cases compared to blue. The control knobs are also made of plastic and are painted chrome.
The unit features three separate fan speed controllers and each has a warning light and an alarm that will sound if the fan ever fails.
The fan controllers will provide a range between 3.75V (on low) to 11.337V(on High) of power to the fans.
On the back of the SCP-A you'll find the plugin ports for setting up the fan controller. The unit is clearly labeled for easy installation.
Above you can see the meanings of the different colors used to provide you with information on the status of each fan.
The SCP-A is nice no-frills Fan Controller. Most fan controllers are constructed of aluminum and may have other features but Evercool must have gone with plastic to keep the cost down.
If your looking simply for a straight forward fan controller that's easy to install you might want to check out the SCP-A.
Pros:
-Easy setup
-LED Color Status
-Alarm
Cons:
-Odd color choice
-Has a Plastic Look and feel to it
