I’d like to thank Nikki of Thermaltake for providing us the Damier 5000A Case for review.
Tonight we take a look at a new series of pre-modded computer cases from Thermaltake. The Damier 5000A comes equipped with five fans, side window, and two fan controllers.
The Damier has a total of five 5.25" drive bays behind the door. One of the drive bays is occupied by the included Hardcano fan controller. The door on the front of the case can also be locked with the keys provided.
Our test model came in a nice black, but the Damier is also available in silver and blue.
On the top of the case we have the top fan exhaust. This top fan is a standard 80mm by 80mm sized fan capable of 2050 RPMS.
This top exhaust setup is the first that i recall seeing on a production case.
Next to the top exhaust fan is a small door that gives you access to two USB ports, one firewire port, and headphone and microphone jacks.
Here we have a shot of the fan controller. It's capable of controlling up to four fans. Also the controller has three thermal probe cables to sense the temperature of various components of your computer such as the CPU, hard drive, inside temperature, etc.
The led screen will display individual fan RPMs and temperatures for the thermal probes. Each thermal probe also has a three position switch for maximum temperature before an alarm is sounded. The settings are 70'C, 60'C, and 50'C.
The big silver dial is another fan controller and there is a second one on the bottom. These two controllers control the speed of the rear and lower side rear fans.
