Testing:
Test System
AMD XP 2600+ 333 MHz (AIUHB) (overclocked to Xp 2900 equivalent)
Asus A7N8X Deluxe rev 2.0
Corsair PC2700 XMS 512 MEGS
Thermaltake Lanfire case
Western digital 80 gig 8 meg cache harddrive.
To calculate the idle temperatures, I gave the computer 10 minutes on its own before recording the temperature down. Next, using Sandra burn in wizard I allowed it to run 30 minutes and recorded the readings.
The CUF-715 cooler performed much better that a stock cooler with a respectable 38' C idle and 44'C at full load.
If your in the market for a budget fan with good cooling you might want to check out Evercool's CUF-715 available for around 20$ US.
