Product: External USB Soundcard
I'd like to thank Debra of Philips for providing us with the Aurilium for review.
Today we're taking a look at a new product from Philips, their Aurilium Sound processor. This external soundcard sounds as good as it looks!
The Aurilium is a USB external sound card plus pre-amp that uses high quality 24-bit data converters for high definition audio fidelity. The unit comes in a sleek silver case that can be setup to stand on its side or horizontally. On the front of the unit is the volume control, selector buttons, and microphone in and headphone jacks.
The Aurilium is jam packed with features such as Automatic Plug Detection and Intelligent Media Processing™ which automatically configures speakers and headphones for optimized sound quality.
For digital music such as mp3 and wma two selectable sound enhancements are available to re-energize digital music. First we have Qsizzle which enhances high and medium frequencies. And the other we have Qrumble which enhances low frequencies.
Gaming is where the Aurilium really shines. The Aurilium supports DS3D and EAX which allow games that are equipped with them to give you an enhanced 3D sound experience.
