The picture above gives you a much better idea of the air flow possibilities of the Blower fan.
Moving on to the installation, Thermaltake recommends using the blower fan as the case exhaust fan and the smartfan 2 on the CPU. This will be the setup i will use for testing. I'm using a thermalright slk 800 heatsink in combination with the smart fan 2 to cool the CPU. Also i have both fans connected to the Dual speed controller of course.
From the results above we can see the smartfan 2 works very well at keeping the temperatures down on the CPU. I found that leaving the fan speed on a medium setting was the best balance of cooling vs noise ratio.
Next we have the internal case temperatures. I put up some numbers i got from a normal 32 CFM case fan for comparison.
I have to say i was really impressed with the results of the Blower fan used as an exhaust fan. As you can see above my computer's case temperature is always around 46 c. With the blower fan even on a low speed setting cut my internal temperatures by 8 c!
The XBlower kit is a nice blend of performance and style. The kit was worth its weight in gold just for the great case temperatures i received, which by the way are lower than i've ever gotten before.
Pros:
- Nice looking speed control bezel.
- Easy to install
- Smart fan with 3 ways to use it
- Blower fan
- Good cooling
- wires long enough for most cases
