Are you looking for a silent heatsink and fan solution with out sacrificing performance? Well Thermaltake Volcano 9 might be just what the doctor ordered.
I'd like to thank Weller of Thermaltake for providing us the Volcano 9 for review.
The Volcano 9 is an aluminum made heat sink, featuring a copper insert and a very well made 3 lug retention clip. Matched to the heat sink is Thermaltake’s Smart case fan 2. This fan features 3 different ways to use it:
Function one allows you to run the fan at full speed 75.7 CFM!
Function two controls the fan by way of a thermal sensor probe placed under the CPU. This way, the hotter the CPU the faster the fan spins. This allows the fan to run silently for the majority of the time.
Function three controls the fan by a small rheostat so you can manually adjust the fan speed from spinning at 1300 rpm and 20.5 CFM to 4800 rpm and 75.7 CFM.
