I've been looking at the Thermaltake Active Ram Cooler, for quite some time now with some with reservations. My first impression was that this was more eye candy than useful. After reading about it from other sources i decided to check it out.
First off, it's damn cool looking! The 40mm fan with it's itty bitty fan grill borders on cute.
Specs are 5.1 cfm, 23dB, 3 pin connector with 4 pin adapter, for use on Sdram or DDR.
Installation is easy.
Included with the ram cooler are 2 clips (i only used one) and double sided sticky tape. You just stick the tape on the metal parts and carefully line up your ram on top. Make sure you have adequate room for ram pins to fit into your motherboards ram slots.
So on to some testing. I chose a fairly unmodded computer that i was only able to overclock to 138 mhz front sidebus. Using sandra burn in wizard, i was able to run stable at 140mhz fsb for 30 minutes.
If you want to get those last few mhz out of your system, the Thermaltake Active Ram Cooler could be just what your looking for.
