Nexus Multi-Function Panel Jan 24th 2003

Installation:

Installing the multi-function panel, was very easy. All cables are nicely labeled to minimized confusion during installation. One thing to consider, is how you will want to organize your cables. I suggest using twist ties to bundle your cables neatly. Also to facilitate your ease of installation, connect all the cords to the unit first. Then pull the cables through the bay that you’re going to install it to.

One minor annoyance was the power cable to the unit is awfully short. I was lucky that the bay under the unit I installed it in, was empty. I simply popped out the front face plate, reached in, and was then able to connect it to the power supply.

You may have noticed the face plate is red. Vantec at the present time, doesn't make red face plates. So I made a simple modification to match my computers color. Check out how here.

The Nexus Multi-Function Panel is a great way to keep track of your systems temperatures. I highly recomended it.

Pros:

-Back lit LCD display.
-Usb and firewire Ports in the front.
-CPU fan control.
-3 temperature sensing probes.
-All cables are clearly marked.
- Includes hex key for changing face plates.
-Extra face plate colors.
-Mode button to monitor each temperature sensor.

Cons:

-Short power cord Molex.
