You have the option of using a game controller or keyboard to play the game. I highly recommend using a game controller instead of the keyboard, as you have little control over car with keyboard.
The game runs pretty smooth; the cars have a nice feel when you drive them. Each car has a different feel and you’ll have to get use to each car's quirks.
Sound:
The sounds in Hot Pursuit 2 are very good. You get screeching tires, high revving engines, and scraping metal. Descriptions of the cars are provided by a “radio announcer” type voice over. And of course you have the police band radio banter.
To get you in the mood for the game, Hot Pursuit has a good sound track provided by well-known artists such as Bush, Rush or Uncle Kracker.

There were some minor annoyances that bugged me about the game. It seemed to me that the computer controlled A.I. cars (not the police) where more than happy to collide into your car instead of passing. I’m not sure if this was done on purpose, and I’m still wondering if this is a plus or a minus.
The other thing I didn’t like was the point system. It seemed to me a bit un-balanced. For example: in police mode you get 50pts per ticketed car. In a 3 minute race that’s about 3 cars if your lucky. If you’re racing single championship, even if you come in first you get about 1000-1500 pts. To unlock other cars they run any where from 2000 to 160 000 pts. And tracks 2000 to 60 000 pts.
Over all, Electronic Arts has done the Need For Speed series justice.
A great choice for the avid car game enthusiast.
