You may have noticed if you down load mp3 from different sources on the net or you compare different programs to rip your CDs that sometimes they're not all the same volume.
When you have your songs in a playlist you might hear a big volume boost or decrease in volume.
The cause of this is because different people use different software along with different settings when they 'ripped' their music CDs.
There is a solution and it's called normalizing. Normalizing makes mp3s all the same volume level using a special program.
The method we will use today uses two programs that are both available free. The first program is called MMwave 2K. This program lets you normalize your MP3's. You can also find other software that does the same thing.
The basic process is to select the mp3 to be normalized. next the MP3s have to be decoded to WAV files. This has to be done because MP3 files are compressed where as WAV files are not.
Once the files are all in WAV format, we move on to the normalizing process. The basic settings of the program should be fine, so just select the WAV files and press the normalize button. The process will take a few minutes depending on how many mp3's your normalizing.
